So... At first I heard the word "lesbian" on TV, and asked my mom what it means. She said "you'll know when you get older". But 13 y.o. me already got a phone and a twitter account, so I looked it up on Twitter using hashtag.
I. Was. Shook.
But (ofc) I kept scrolling, then I also found people using the hashtag "gay". Somehow from that hashtag I found a page of the very mainstream "junjou romantica" Manga. Because I was already kind of a nerd back then, I tried reading it. From that moment I know I've fallen hard and can never go back '-' (jk, I probably can but not anytime soon)
I began reading yaoi on Wattpad, because I became addicted to dark themes like suicide and extreme bullying, then I stumbled upon good bxb with such themes. I was confused because one of the stories has a "yaoi" tag. I looked it up, but it was meh. However, my opinion changed when I found good dark yaoi (but still on Wattpad), then a 180 happened when my best friend now.

I was watching shoujo anime on YouTube when I came across Gravitation. Although both partners were male, I didn't mind it. I then started coming across more hardcore BL anime, such as Koisuru Boukun and Kirepapa, and ended up liking them quite a bit. I also tried watching "Love Stage," but was left cringing from the sex scene at the end (somehow didn't notice that what was ensuing in the aforementioned was anything sexual).
I was downloading Umaru chan. Accidentally downloaded Junjou romantica. I first thought they were brothers. Just a bit too clingy. Then, in the opening song where misaki kissed usagi I was like: (⊙…⊙ )
Then I went to sleep thinking that my eyes were playing. Next day I saw the full episode. Then full season, full junjou romantica, sekaiichi, full manga, full of this mangaka's work. And now I'm aiming for reading all the yaoi out there (=・ω・=)
How did yall come across yaoi?
i found it when i read a doujinshi and now im here.
