True. People have the choice whether to read or not, and if they are not a fan of the idea then it’s always best to just simply leave it alone rather than complaining about a particular theme found in a fictional story.
Why shouldn't I read yaoi? There are plenty of bl manga that don't have rape. I like reading yaoi manga and sometimes you might pass up a gem if you let the rape tag keep you away.
Obviously ALL of us know that reality and fiction are two different things. I haven't seen one comment claiming that showing rape in manga is romanticizing it. No one is arguing that being ok with rape in manga is the same as being ok with rape in real life.
What I AM trying to say is that there are better ways to create drama and conflict in these type of stories. If you're going to use rape, then follow through and use it to actually grow your characters. Don't just throw it in for some drama and then never talk about it again.

It's unfortunate that those people think that being ok with rape in fiction is the same as being ok with it in reality. It's basically the same line of thinking as videogames make people violent, which is not true. And you are absolutely right, authors don't HAVE to do anything. They can draw what they like and what they want. I just find that a lot of mangaka use rape as an "easy" way to bring conflict into a manga and I'm over it.

The storyline of this manga is so often that it is annoying. Not only the assault from nowhere, but the "i have sex with girls you like because i like you, i confess to you and now we have sex". So do not except people won't nag that again we read the same thing. This is not about fiction-reality mess up, but rather a "we have a brain" kind of thing. I have not forgotten all the other mangas with same story.
I have also read manga containing rape but there are well written so they are masterpieces or good reads overall.
I think that's a pretty dense statement of you. I've read plenty of yaoi where rape doesn't happen or isn't sugar coated, so you either haven't broaden your horizons or you're full of crap.
Dude, you need to keep in mind that people cannot know what's inside a story IF THEY DON'T READ IT. [At the moment] There's no tag about rape, there's no explanation of what exactly happens in the story; so how can they know if the story is bad? That's like telling someone not to eat their food, if they don't like the taste. But how the fuck are you going to know the taste isn't to your liking, if you haven't actually tasted the food? That's telling a reviewer not to read the story if they hate it, but how the fuck would they have known they hate it if they didn't read it? That's telling someone not to listening to the song if the vocals are bad, but how will they know the vocals are bad if they haven't actually HEARD the song?

Sure there are people who like this trope, but there are a whole lot of people who dislike this trope too. You hit the nail on the head with one thing; mangaka's do it because it's convenient. It's a fast way to make sex happen, and that's what makes it so boring. A lot of great yaoi out there that are still going strong, do not feature rape or a lot of it. They focus on growing the characters. Other mangaka's should take note.

If you are well aware that you dislike an entire theme then might as well generally try to avoid it if you can. That’s basically my point. Reviews equal spoilers, how about you consider people not wanting to spoil themselves? Be realistic. THAT'S why we've got tags; they don't spoil the content; they only tell you a small piece of the story. If the tags do not hint the theme, you will be unaware of said theme UNTIL YOU READ THE STORY. And even if the tags did say it's about rape, it is still UNCLEAR how the rape plays out in the story. Is it a story about growth? Is it a past rape? Nothing is certain. THAT'S WHY I literally explained why people are UNAWARE of the theme, and how they will continue being UNAWARE, if they. don't. read. the story. For fuck's sake. If you're going to reply, add something new and/or progressive to the discussion.
