It depends on the chars involved. It's not a fix all solution.
In my case all of my ships are sailing so the way I see it is why should I welcome aboard these characters that I don't even like or find attractive? To make people who likely hate my ship happy? Screw them.
true, it wont always work or be the best solution, but as OP said, a LOT of problems or clichéd love triangles could be fixed or resolved
Don't you think that most of shoujo/yaoi/yuri manga that includes a love triangle plot or multiple ships within the characters on the story could be easily resolved with healthy polygamy?? Cause i really do think so. Like, a lot. Each time i read this clichéd themes, actually.
