Tachibana is still straight. I like how sensei isn't forcing a straight man to be gay for convenience of the gay guy or fangirls. he is cool with Ono, but that doesn't mean he is gonna change his sexuality for him.
I agree when ono started to go out with chikage, that he might be happy this time and he will stop his affair and hurting himself in the process.

we all know tachibana is a kind person, he has a motherly love for everyone, he cares deeply for everyone, and he got hurt deeply in the process of loving someone too because somehow he can't accept someone who loves him.
all he wanted is a normal life.
accepting to be with another man is sure will be so hard for him since he's far too traumatized by his past.
