Hic im a bit frustrated too because i just found out that my ship Shizuka x Watanuki was broken... Shizuka married to Kohane :/ Shizuka was waiting in rain for 6h, 10h, trade his blood for him... Even if Shizuka had feeling for Watanuki, i would feel satisfied

late reply, but i rewatched anime and reread some chapters and to me it seems that he married her mostly that their kids will be able to help watanuki, not bc of love. He seemed to spend his evenings in shop, instead his own house... But still its bittersweet ending, since they cant be together ;_; and watanuki will stay all alone, makes me sad whenever i think about it

Shizuka has to marry Kohane to "produce" a child, so that child can be a companion to Kimihiro while he wait for Yuuko San. And I think in this series, this is already the 3rd generation of Doumeki-kun (if I'm not mistaken)

that's right. shizuka and kohane both love watanuki (not a love interest) so they think that leaving a child will help watanuki to stay as human as possible (because he's not aging anymore and he's with all the spirit all the time) and not to let other people forget about him. about the generation of doumeki-kun i dont know perharps he's the 3rd generation. because he keep on saying that he look like his granpa.

yeah me too. another tab is TRC so i can catch up with the confusion. i think it took me multiples time of reading to understand it fully. there are times it confuse me when hakura-san and watanuki will be talking, then next scene it will be shizuka and watanuki lols.

Me, I got confused on how Yuuko-san explained things to Kimihiro. I had to re-read and re-read it again so that I can understand it fully, and I still can't, I'll try to give it more time because maybe not mature enough to understand it.


And also maybe because of my level in English proficiency ╮(￣▽￣)╭

lol. me too my english is not my first language but fluent in english, but i still can't understand sometimes what she's trying to explain. and sometimes you need to google the meaning behind what she trying to say.

I think Doumeki here is still Shizuka since the time he wakes up in a long dream he inquires the well being of Himawari. I try to find Watanuki's dialogue like you look like your grandpa but I didn't find it here in Rei. In addition, Shizuka is the great grandfather of Sayaka and Haruka is the great great grandfather. I guess in the later chap of this Sayaka will appear.

Also, I guess in this chap it's still not 100 years. Watanuki is still not powerful here. As stated in the chapter Watanuki cannot win because of his level. It was stated in XXXHOLIC chapter 213 he's now powerful that he even can leave the shop since so much has passed and he waits yuuko past 100 years so basically in this series Rei, Watanuki is not in a position where he is in 100 years of waiting

Honestly, I think both loved Watanuki romantically, you don't go your way to create a bloodline for your "friend" to not be alone.
