Well in yaoi manga of course he picked on him because he liked him. IRL though, I'm afraid people can bully others for other far less charming reasons as well.

It looks like he did like him back (because he kept picking on him, why would you waste your time if youre not interested) but sensei ran away before he could get an answer. Maybe senpai holds a grudge for leaving him for 10 years idk but i look forward to it
