How i see it is that the older guy started dating the woman because she was a struggling mom. The kid had tattered clothes. That kid saved his life and he wanted to repay that kid. He wanted to take care of him like a father would. But its sad because the older guy never had feelings for the mother.
And then the kid threw himself at the older guy and it all fell apart.
The kid was fucking DRUGGED. Your victim blaming b.s. is GROSS.
The uncle wasn't the one who drugged the kid though.
