"Their relationship is really mature and they are on equal terms." // I felt that in both main ships, and that was a really strong point of this series IMO. Most yaoi you see out there shows couples with an imbalance of power (directly related to uke/seme tropes) and/or unrealistic conditions (e.g.: sex and/or romance curing a character's trauma, which is related or not to sex or romance). The close realism of AAL and its accurate portrait of a real life's relationship is what makes this series one of my favorites off all times.
Also, there's asexual representation, and I couldn't be more glad
