Is it just me or... KOREANS LOVE BAD ENDINGS? ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Not saying ALL of them, but I just find my korean dramas and manhwas to have such an AMAZING plots, twists and runs but will leave you an AMAZING disappointment on how they end their stories. Was like a meh to me when it ends. 89% felt like rush or they got bored doing it or they need to move on with another project or... *sigh*
Anyways just my opinion. There's still a lotta manhwas that made me proud til the end like TOTALLY CAPTIVATED. (▰˘◡˘▰)

Chinese BL Dramas have bad endings, also. Most of 'em.

I've never watched any, but I literally just came across a scene in "Hetalia" making fun of this ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Not sure if this is true but someone pence said to me that it was because those countries are still relatively conservative with homosexuality so all gay movies have to have a bad ending because they will be displayed on tv (unlike yahoo which u have to search for). Sort of like subliminal message that homosexual relations lead to bad endings?

I'm not sure if this is true, but there is evidence to suggest it could be, as this was the history of LGBT characters in American cinema history. At one point they actually could not show them being happy in the end, and well after that, it was still the common theme due to underlying prejudices. It's actually still a thing which happens to LGBT characters in film and television, even now. I honestly can't stomach most Korean and Chinese BL for this reason.

Actually, fully happy endings becoming closer to the 'norm' is a relatively recent concept (looking at historical literature, anyway), and is largely because of Western/Primarily American influence globally. Go look at the original versions of some of the more popular/well known fairy tales. Dark and/or tragic, most of them. Even the ones that are relatively happy at the end are still much rougher.

True! I've read that also, but you know what I'm saying is, don't get me wrong... Homosexuality topic aside, I came across a lot of korean dramas before reading manhwas with a BS of an ending. You know, they had this out of this world concept that will make you go WOW and then cut your neck right through at the ending. It's frustrating. :| I hope I can name you one but I forgot them already maybe because of the crappy ending.

I think its not the korean manhwa its the chinese manhua who have full of sad endings.
