Red River (Anatolia Story) is pretty similar in my opinion. I had a friend who had read Basara and suggested it to me. I had already read Red River and saw a lot of similarities. Maybe that's just me. :D They're similar but pretty different.

It's pretty good, like milk tea said they are pretty similar. But a warning I would give is the beginning, when I first read it I kept getting stuck on the beginning since I didn't quite like it. I just feel that it's a bit stupid but maybe that's just me. I highly reccomend this
