Keiichi's sister died in the accident, but Ren and Takumi aren't her children. When she married the other guy, she adopted them, since they were children from the guy's previous marriage. This must be the twins's actual mother, from the previous marriage.
Wasn't Ren n takumi's mother the uke's sister? And didn't she die in a car accident?
