Well, it didn't even get an anime. It was an ANIMAKE. And I agree, it desered so much better.
They actually called it an Animix :). But yeah, the point is that it's kind of just an upgraded Drama CD. Drama CD with barely animated pictures, but with pictures nonetheless.
My understanding is that some mangaka reject anime because it means someone else will do the drawing and it won't look like the original. Nitta Youka is said to have been unhappy with the drawing of the characters in the Harudaki anime. Animix is created with the original drawings, so it doesn't dramatically alter the mangaka's work.
I watched Haru wo daiteita's animes and Youka Sensei is right about them. Surely I prefer her style than that used for the animes.
Her style is by far better and really sensual. ^_~
