Victim blaming

So in the comments I saw some stupid shit and I could not help myself and I had to respond to it. Why tf are you'll blaming mitsuru? Did y'all ignore the part where he was being manipulated and RAPED??. And people want to call him stupid and selfish like wtf. What type of shit is saying "if you let people treat you bad you deserve it" what type of fucking ideology is that. That way of thinking is so toxic and wrong like wtf. No one fucking deserves to be treated like shit. None of y'all have clearly ever been in an abuse relationship. You guys don't understand how difficult it is for the victim to get out of that. I know it's a manga but I hope you guy don't really think a person should be treated like shit if they are staying with the person treating them bad...

You know what, I had to re-think if I was victim blaming Mitsuru in my comment at MRM (where we should really be reading this) but then I realized there's a faint difference with what is wrong with blaming the victim and not. Now, I don't know how the comment you were referring to was structured and I completely I agree that no rape victim deserved what was happened to them but the emotional and psychological torture he is going through, imo, is his fault. NOT THE RAPE but the whole affair. That's what happens when one falls in love completely and not leaving a part of themself for their self (I don't know if I phrased it clearly, I hope I did). Respect won't come from other people but from yourself and Mitsuru didn't even try. There's a difference with getting abused and not being able to do anything because you are not physically capable, no matter how you try to fight your way out; versus being capable to do so but still not doing it, because you lack conviction and thus mentally and physically not getting to save yourself. But more than the rape itself, Mitsuru failed right from the start because he never let himself breathe. He entered in a relationship without finding himself and recuperate. Thus, even after getting raped, he still let Kouichi hug him and all, when he could've punched the guy. I don't blame him for getting raped but I can't help think that it wouldn't happen at all if he only he respected himself from the start. But we wouldn't have a story, right? But I think this story is supposed to serve as a lesson, so it wouldn't happen or not happen again to anyone.
