Someone, i dont remember who, dreamed of the missing passengers playing on an island with some bizarre thing that looks like a hybrid/new animal and decided to make an island to the spot on sea that the airplaine disappeared into,,( with the help of that girl with drawing book's grandpa ,, theyre rich, and they made her tomb with a trap surrounding it so it wont be destroyed). It turns out they time traveled when they disappear back then, and now on future, they are going back to civilization.
it is correct. everyone of them went to the future accidentally created at the time the boy's mother created the creatures in future. the future they went and cannot return to past. its very confusing from start.
