I think it will take some time before Yashiro is actually able to let Doumeki in, but Doumeki can't be stopped, he's persistant as you've noticed in the steamy seens where he states no matter what Yashiro says he won't stop. Therefore I do believe this sentence also applies to him chasing after Yashiro and making sure that he is able to accept his feelings fully and open up his heart.
We should think of Yashiro like a broken pottery. You can't just stick some glue on it and expect it to function quite the same. Which is why there is a such thing as 'kintsugi' a Japanese way of fixing a pot by melding it back together with gold. It not only fixes the problem, but makes the pottery that much more valuable than before. Yashiro is Doumeki's broken pot. Doumeki has just began turning his pieces into gold and it's doubtless he'd stop before he can finish. I'll cheer them on. No matter the hardships they face from here. As well as cheer on everyone else in the story. I hope they all live happy lives after this mess is done.

Isn't Yashiro removing an invisible mask on this page? Whether it was the mask that shut off his ability to connect with the world around him, or a mask that kept him and his inner thoughts, fears, love from being revealed and finally dealt with from the rest of the world. I will never know.
