I agree with everything you said except when you whitewash Bum and make him seem like a helpless victim all along. He got into this himself by committing two criminal offenses in the first place (stalking, breaking and entering), went on to murder someone, refused to escape when Sangwoo wanted to abandon him (after hearing about his past - Bum chose to slit his wrists rather than get away when he was given the chance), and lied and implicated a good cop (seriously, missed another chance along with ruining the career and credibility of the only person who actually wanted to help him). He's not exactly a poor little innocent baby who's been chained up until now. He has a messed up past, what with being brutally raped and abused, but then so does Sangwoo, who was also abused as a little boy, saw his mother being abused as well, and possibly saw/took part in his abusive father's murder. Why the bias? He's as much of a freak as Sangwoo.
Bum was abused in the past and continues to be abused in the pressent.
Bum was abused in the past and CHOOSES to endure abuse in the present.
One could also say he "chose" to be abused in the past as well.
One would not say so, not unless one had a few screws loose. In the past, he didn't stalk and break into his asshole uncle's house. He didn't have a chance to leave that creep because he was a dependent minor (he's an adult now, don't forget). In the past, he didn't murder anyone, feel horrible about it, and yet choose to stay with the person who instigated him to do so - actually preferring suicide over leaving him. In the past, he didn't have a dedicated police officer who actively rescued him, brought him to a safe place, tried to have him open up about his abuse, etc. Now, he does. And he literally shook off every chance and opportunity, going so far as to ruin a good man's career, to remain with his psychotic kidnapper.
You do hear about stockholme syndrome right? Are you seriously blaming the victim? Do you know there are real life scenarios of women staying with their captors because of it? They will say they stayed because 'the captor is the only one who cared for them'. The EXACT SAME THING Bum said. That should be warning bells for you.
He stays not because he has full control of himself, he stays because he thinks it is right. He's a victim and he has NO CHOICE. The fact that he has flashbacks to the 'good things' he thinks Sangwoo do is also a telling fact of abused victims staying with their abusers out of miguided feelings and remembering only the good times. All facts point to Bum being an abused victim so DO NOT SIT THERE AND SAY THAT HE CHOSE TO BE ABUSED..
The man ruined his own career. He is a good investigator but he is a bad cop. He was too fucking stupid. He had the man there and he chose to ruin his own fucking career. Who goes and beat up the suspect. This is after he already had his own warnings from the past. I really respected him till he turned into the biggest idiot there.
NO I WILL say he chose it, because he DID. NO sugarcoating. Don't bring in Stockholm syndrome and real life women, because most of those cases don't involve murdering psychopaths with numerous kills under their belt. Bum's had problems LONG before he even knew Sangwoo, let alone decided to stalk him and break into his house. STOP PRETENDING HE'S BEEN A NORMAL LITTLE BEANIE-WEANIE. He HAS problems. He DOESN'T need love~ and happiness~ and all the butterflies and rainbows in life! He. Needs. Help. Since you felt the need to bring in real life into this scenario, let me just add that skirting around obvious issues for 'feelings' has caused more murders/suicides/pain than you could ever imagine. Just because you feel sorry for his circumstances (as do I) there's no justification for showing him in a good, and innocent and victim-focused life. You people need to understand that he's a much more complex, interesting and strong character than all you victim-tagging children give him credit for.
No, he has been shown to have a complex with getting justice, especially if the story about his father being brutalised was true. He isn't stupid. He's human. The other cops are shit. BUM'S the biggest shit for lying and choosing to help the man who's murdered numerous innocent people, made him murder someone, etc. etc. Although I do agree that Seungbae should've been more crafty with his actions. Guess you can't beat a seasoned serial killer and his faithful lackey.
Are you an idiot? When did I say that HE DID NOT NEED HELP. He obviously does. JUST LIKE VICTIMS OF ABUSE AND THOSE IN STOCKHOLME SYNDROME. Are you really that stupid? Do you not realise that this are cases where the victim's CHOICE IS NULL. Where di you get your facts from? Stockholme syndrome DOES NOT NEED to be from people who are not murderers and FACT: THERE HAS BEEN CASES WHERE KILLERS KEEP ONE OR TWO OF THEIR VICTIMS instead of killing them. And THEY develop stockholme syndrome because they think they're 'chosen' because they were not killed. OH WAIT. LIKE WHO? LIKE BUM.
Please do you research before you say such nonsensical shit. Yes, he has had problems. BUT he CHOSE TO RUN AWAY FIRST. Or besides making up facts YOU FORGOT THAT HE WAS BEATEN UP BADLY WHEN HE TRIED TO ESCAPE? It was after the beatings, after the constant failed attempts, after the fact that Sangwoo killed others instead of him that Bum stopped escaping NOT BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED (Like he could not escape TWO FUCKING TIMES like in the store and in the concert because he was scared that it was trap SINCE HIS FIRST FUCKING ATTEMPT FAILED HIM SO BADLY) and NOW he stays because he thinks he is 'special'. Do you need to read again? Do you need to look through the manga again AND SEE FOR YOURSELF IT'S NOT BLACK AND WHITE.
You say that others don't see it but you're the one closing off to what the manga has presented to you.
Oh please. So the officer gets 'he's human' card and Bum doesn't? Yes, his father was killed. And? Was he beaten as a child? Was he raped? Do you know what those things can do to a person? They become more obedient to abusers, more likely to blame themselves and either more likely to go with the person who treats themselves well (like Bum did because of the officer who saved him in the army) or less likely (and close themselves off). Bum's actions to Sangwoo IS SO MUCH MORE UNDERSTANDABLE than the officer's.
The officer wants to get somewhere than he should use his fucking brain. If this was the first time, then ok. But this is his second time fucking up. Seriously?
Bum stayed with his uncle for years after becoming an adult.
I think you should not try to reason with this idiot. They don't even read the manga properly.
Are you literally so fucking stupid that your tiny brain cannot grasp the fact that there is an obvious issue with everybody claiming Bum is completely innocent and pretending he has nothing to do with his own predicament? Skirting around the issue hollering 'Stockholm syndrome' just makes YOU look narrow minded with one-dimensional thinking. Grow up and face the facts before bringing in irrelevant things to the argument that *was* civil before you decides to call someone an 'idiot' for not being a biased pansy.
Right, because having your father brutalised is absolutely *nothing* by comparison. Different people deal with different traumas differently. I'd rather humanise an officer whose only fillet was being stupid and beating up a serial killer compared to a stalker, murder and accomplice; all in one.
Y'know, the fact that you prattle about being understanding and open minded only to dismiss an individual as an 'idiot' for having an entirely valid, albeit different to your own, opinion about a psychological story just goes to show that you're not out of diapers yet. You might wish to graduate elementary school before pretending to be the one and only correct individual whose thoughts are superior to those of others. In simpler words, please grow up.
Your opinion is no less biased. You excuse Seungbae's behavior based upon his past but do not do the same for Bum and his trauma.
Possibly because Seungbae hasn't murdered anyone? Or been an accomplice to a serial killer? It's more of common sense stemming from a comparison of their actions than a 'bias'. Nobody ever said Bum is inexcusable. My point is that he's NOT the blameless victim everyone paints him to be.
Same as Seungbae, he isn't blameless either. He hasn't murdered anyone but he's broken many laws. Seungbae assaulted an innocent twice (Sangwoo is considered innocent because Seungbae has no proof of Sangwoo's guilt), he's unlawfully detained Sangwoo and Bum, he broke into Sangwoo's house, pursued them without a warrant or approval, and he ignored direction of a superior. And this would be the second time Seungbae has done this, it's the whole reason he got demoted. That is unacceptable behavior for a police officer. From his actions Seungbae should lose his job.
I see no point in your response? Seungbae didn't have proof to SHOW, he had plenty of proof that Sangwoo was a serial killer when he beat him up. I figure knowing a person is a murderer might make the best of us a bit... angry. At least, I would hope so. I honestly cannot understand why you keep comparing Seungbae losing his temper against a murderer to Sangwoo actually murdering people and Bum choosing to be his accomplice? If you're so righteous in saying that Seungbae *should* lose his job because that would be normal, then Sangwoo should lose his freedom/life for being a psychopath, and Bum should lose his life for being an idiot. However, neither of those points stand because there are so many more dimensions to it. I just truly cannot fathom why you'd keep comparing a man trying to get justice to two men evading it while murdering innocent people left and right. :/
Really i feel so sad poor Bum i want to be happy but Sangwoo its so fucking crazy i hope Seungbae comeback to take revenge. Bum has to be happy hi deserve it(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
