In most asian countries prostitution is legal, and a very open thing. I mean you could buy one time use disposable under wear at the 7 11 across the street.

Not to mention that debt caused by 'lone sharks' is a bit of a grey area law wise. Most of the time it can't be refuted due to the contract. Vague contracts are easy to defend.

Though I do understand where your coming from. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

In Germany prostitution is legal too. It protects the sex workers from exploitation and the customers don't have to be afraid to end up in jail. The prostitutes have to pay taxes and have a healthcare insurance with mandatory medical check-ups. I don't see how that is a bad thing. Prostitution is the oldest profession in the world and whether you legalise it or not, people will still do it. And I think it's better when people do it in safe environments.

It's like having abortions. Prohibiting them won't lower the abortion rates, but the rate of safe abortions.

Not just safer abortions but safer pregnancies all together.

In Texas after that draconian anti-abortion bill got passed mortality rates for pregnant women skyrocketed.

Well to be far Asia especially Singapore is very open about prostitution. I mean Orchard Tower is commonly know as the 4 floors of whores. The sex change industry is also booming there. Quite a few people that want a sex change raise money by being a prostitute. It to the point that you can sit at the coffee shop across the way and try to guess weather they know what gender their 'date' is. ヾ(☆▽☆) A lot of half done jobs. Women on top and men below. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

"Most asian countries" can you be more specific? Its illegal, but it is tolerated, but its still illegal. Its not like the ones in a west where they openly dance in glass doors.

I have no problem with prostitution as long as you're not forced to do it by someone, being forced to prostitute until you "faint" is just another form of slavery, well that's how I view it, to me that's a big problem, think about it. If someone says They'll harm your family if someone doesn't prostitute then it will become a huge problem, right?

Wow ok so I should clarify. Lets retract the statement 'most asian countries' and just list them. Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Macau, Israel, Lebanon, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Turkey all have legalized prostitution.

Japan has something called the 'sex industry' which is not counted as prostitution according to the law. However it is pretty much the same thing.

As for countries in asia where it is tolerated but technically illegal you have Bhutan, China, India, Kolkata, Indonesia, Philippines, Syria, and Thailand.

So yes you are right most asian countries do not have legalized prostitution and my statement was incorrect. However for a surprising number it is legal. Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
