How do they turn out to be dead you mean?
Zero as the shield of yuuki while they are attacked i think... heavily wounded and died in order to protect yuuki and their child... while yuuki gave his life to kaname...

I'm real confused now xD Like I know he died shielding "a child [he] never even met before" and for some reason when I read that the first time I was like "so he saved a random child", but after yall bringing up that it was referring to Yuki pregnant with their son it also makes sense. It would be nice if Ren got to meet his dad tho.
