I think we might me misunderstand that part. Her mom didn't say 'Sex' she sed 'we had you" so maybe they might be to he pregnant to break the curse.
That seems reasonable. If there is a child then there is something to tie them down to eachother (in theory. things don't always work out so nice)
If that were the case then they wouldn't have tried to have sex earlier in the Manga don't you think? I think her having a baby is pretty unreasonable just so he can go to a wedding
