I too feel that those who fetishize rape and overlook serious flaws in yaoi mangas are gross and was not trying to defend my views because they were not seemingly aligned with yours. I guess my point is that these kinds of people surround us, and despite best efforts, we cannot change how gross humankind essentially is. I was not trying to be bitter, just pointing out something bluntly. Have a nice day.

Pleasestopthot, I belive that you opinion is right and wrong, people should be able to say what they want to say without consequence unless they are saying something like what you mentioned previously, ( thing along the lines of "fuck me dude who is about to fuck a minor, DADDY") ( something absurd). But my overall opinion is that as long as your not hurting anyone or offending anyone I would say carry on screaming at fake people to fuck. But also remember the grown adults who enjoy yaoi that take pride in reading it, they shouldn't stop because of one 13yo screaming "fuck me daddy". (Also take into account the active members in the yaoi community that analyze and have a opinion worth listening to).

This thread was just made to rather point out that such things do go on in the community, regardless if it changes or not. But it is not impossible to relize what's wrong within this tiny yaoi fandom and work to change it, seeing as it not meant to be humankind nature. Yes, the population is quite unhuman and morally wrong, but that wasn't the point of my question. I hope you have a nice day also, and thank you for explaining kindly what you though.

lmao me again (the one that went on the long ass rant) @the other anon telling us to "just get over it" like. gee i wish i could but i keeps shoving itself in my face that i cant. the point of talking about these things is that so people can understand where we who have a problem with it are coming from. a lot of people arent aware of how this is affecting others and hopefully we can educate them. if we just left it alone and "just let it go" then the behavior will never stop. its not a matter of critizing people but just letting them know "hey some of this stuff ur doing is not the best."

In the bottom of the thread I stated that my opinion above was only geared at those who do seemingly fetish real gay men because they can't find the difference between books and real life. It can cause harm, seeing as gay males have a come out to say that fangirls have often harassed them and caused them to be generalized because of 13yr Olds telling them to fuck. There is an amazing group of adults who properly analyze the storyline and genuinely read it for the connection and not always the smut. I'm 100% with people reading yaoi, but if it's to the point that you can't look in the comment section without some obsence naughty remark. Which is were I do tend to get annoyed, but I'm not the person to scream at them lmao. I do agree with points of your opinion, and I thank you for expressing it kindly!

Yes I am aware of that. XD Don't worry I was just teasing you since you reminded me of a cetain anon.
Anyway on a serious note.
In terms of yaoi I've read hentai and yuri and thres always the issue of a small group of people fetishizing human romance. I know you didn't want to address it but the simularisties (such as the type of comments you speak of) are hard to ignore.
In my opinion I don't care as strongly about those specific comments, they are cringy but I care about the read more.

It bothers me when I'm reading a shounen ai that's fairly (not entirely but more than most others) innocent but then I go into the comment section and you'd think it was a twisted yaoi Harada doujin (it's not). Comments wanting the guy to get raped to "spice" (their words) it up, wanting him to be paired with a stranger twice his age over his same age best friend who he is actually in love with, and then the foursome crowd who can't handle seeing a group of friends without wanting them all to fuck. I wish they would stop. I just take comfort knowing the author would never make the comic like that. It's got its problems but it's not that messed up and hopefully it never will be.

Oh lmao, sorry if I got too defensive. I've gotten shit for my opinion so much and it's to the point it's impossible to remain being civil lmao. I do agree though, some form of fetishizing is going in in nearly every community, it's just I adressed yaoi seeing that it does tend to be more severe than yuri and hentai (they do get some nasty, rank ass comments though.) And the community on here does tend to learn towards yaoi on mangago

It's cool. :D Yeah but I also feel like it depends on the website. For example there aren't much yaoi websites that people know about, they exists but simply aren't as popular as mangago. Usually those websites have matured commentary. But since mangago is so popular and easy to find, the younger groups just need to search "yaoi manga" in google and they'll find this. Which I theorize is the reason mangago has typically a younger audience.
And if you search yuri manga the first search you get is "mangafox" and then mangago as the fourth option.... (Poor yuri manga so neglected) Hentai manga it's "nhentai" if anyone's wondering. They're harder to find (well yuri is) but yuri is usually mashed together in hentai websites for some reason so I guess that's why there's no apparent yuri site. ;-;

What does that have to do with the question at hand, jm? The shota I read mostly involved adult characters who were simply drawn in a "shota" style, and I didn't read it because I fetishized illegal and unhealthy relationships... They were around the same age, and they weren't in relationships founded on sexual assault and the like >.>
At least use your main account to speak your mind...

Fetishing (?) any kind of people is not ok regardless of anyone's sexuality. It's the same as any straight guys fetishing women. The same as any straight women fetishing guys. It doesn't happen only to gay communities.
Some fans are just immature, and cannot differentiate between reality and imagination. This kind of people will always exist, regardless of whatever kind of genre they are fans of.
I understand that some stuff (eg. rapey stuff) are not for everyone. It's not exclusively happen in yaoi community. It happen in straight (?) community too. There's a reason why hentai exists. This stuff also common in shoujo mangas too, even in straight romance novels.
One user once mentioned that rape fantasy happens because of the fantasy of wanting someone to want you so much that they force themselves onto you is appealing, especially to someone who has low self esteem and probably has never been desired by someone they are attracted to. I can accept this kind of explanation, since i know it's possible.
My point is all of what you mentioned also happen other types of genres too, not exclusively occured in yaoi. Sorry for rambling. I find it difficult to accept that only gays feel they are victimised because of this issue.
I'm not speaking about the Manga that include yaoi, but rather the actions of the people who read them. Do you find the fandom to be usually enjoyable or share like views, and find it quite gross? Coming from my point of view, it's beyond tragic and disgusting to see usually younger girls fetishizing gay males for their own desires and sexual needs. Usually overlooking the rapey themes, and romanticizing things that are quite illegal and lead to unhealthy relationships. And also, how do some of ya'll think it's cute to text like "uwu, this seme is so ლ(´ڡ`ლ) doki doki. I can't wait for the underaged uke to get fuckedヾ(☆▽☆)I luv gay sex!1!1!" (I've actually seen comments like this)
YA'LL CHILL, DON'T FEEL ATTACKED BECAUSE I HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION. smh
It's cool it you read yaoi manga, go right ahead. This is rather a thread on how you feel about your peers and their actions. I rather so pointed out the yaoi extremists who tend to be annoying and bitter when your opinion doesn't line with theirs. I stated in my personal opinion on how I often see the community perceived and the problem I have with it. You are entitled to your own ideas and I'm not here to bash you for that, so please do the same. I just wanted to know if you enjoyed the fandom usually or did not. Sorry if you took it wrong, and saw I didn't properly explain myself before.
