And maybe we need another system where authors and artists get money according to how many views their work had online or something like that.
yeah that would be sweet, if it were kinda monetized like youtube, with an ad between each chapter or whatever. id sit through and ad like that if i knew the money was going to the authors. and if this site were monetized i doubt it would get over-regulated like it is on youtube right now.

i've always said, turn sights like manga-go into a manga version of netflix. access to everything for a monthly fee. money goes to authors.

But if they do need to use advertisements, I would like to see the ones that are not weird. I don't really understand why ads on anime and manga websites are always about weird things like phallic sea creatures holding some sort of "secret" healing substance for ED, becoming rich in a week and getting a sexy girlfriend from XXX country and the such.
Newspapers are already starting to work that way, only problem is that it's often too expensive even for working adults. So stuff like manga is even harder because the main audience are teenagers or young adults and usually they don't have the means to pay for it.
yeah the ads are always the same weird stuff. Why not direct it to the target audience thats going to be reading this kind of thing? Like art supplies ads (copic, blick) or cosplay sites. Stuff that young folks would actually be interested in. Cause I, as a 15 year old girl have no need for a busty Russian bride haha. the demographic could be narrowed down with a survey in every members notification box.
Of course theres also the fact that, these scanlations aren't really lawful, so respectable businesses probably wont jump at the opportunity to promote here.....
those adds pay the most. thats why. and this is not legal so they dont really care if and add is appropriate
twitter should have an IQ test before you sign it to prevent the future clan-style torching of our yaoi safe haven. im not sure what id do if this project went down over something like that
probably spend money and support the artist like a decent person.....
