Totally agree, as well, positive! Nothing to disagree with, here. Sad that someone obviously thought there was, though. You took all opinions into account not just those who are trying to read legally. And you gave an excellent reason as to why people should at least take into account from whom and how they are sharing. Thank YOUUUUUUUUU!
Reposting so that the person who keeps sharing the Lezhin Official English Translations can see.
Hey guys, I know a lot of you are really happy because this webtoon has been updated. But I want to ask whoever has been sharing the official english translations to at least post them a week behind. Like when the official ch. 48 comes out, at least wait a week? Like, some people here on mangago do buy the chapters but they might not if they can just read it for free.
Obviously the people who can't buy still won't be able to buy, but at least try to encourage some people to still buy by posting a week behind. That way, the people who can't buy who you want to share these chapters with still get it, but there's still incentive for people who can afford to buy them.
Btw, I personally really really disagree with you sharing the official Lezhin English translations. They pay editors and translators to translate that from Korean to English. They lose out when you do that. Posting screenshots is very very different from taking the raws and translating it yourself. The least you could do is at least wait a week or two. Scanlation is illegal because the author has not given scanlators permission to scanlate their work. BUT posting scanlations don't affect sales in Japan for those mangas. Most of the sales for those manga will be from Japan. Lezhin is a web publishing platform. Posting webtoons on a site like this as direct competitor with Lezhin DOES AND WILL affect Haribo and Lezhin's bottom line. Because it is taking away some customers that could have been able to pay for it from Lezhin. Both are illegal but affect authors in vastly different ways.
Btw, yes I do pay to read WLATE on Lezhin. Yes I do visit mangago and this page to discuss the comic with fans. Me visiting mangago doesn't really make sharing the official work without Lezhin's consent any less illegal. I just wanted to try to get whoever is sharing to understand that there are consequences for sharing right as the chapters are released and that it would benefit and not hurt them in the least to do so a few chapters behind if they choose to share.
I hope I am not coming across high and mighty, because that is not my intent at all, I just really hope some people are convinced by my points and see how it would benefit Haribo if some people waited to share if they insist on doing so. Especially since she recently had to defend herself on twitter against someone who was pissed of they had to pay for her comics.
I know some people will disagree with me no matter what, and it makes me sad but that's fine. I don't pretend to know everything and this topic is very sensitive and a lot more grey than black or white.
