It seems to have slipped past anyone that Hinata named the crow Midori because of the eye colour. It was never his real name.
And feigning innocence was surely directed at Midori himself since he acts like he doesn't mind humans, although he probably hates them. We saw in the flashback chapter that Midori was rather cold and less sophisticated in behavior, somewhat.
I think he was just surprised by the name, since it's not his real name (meaning Midori didn't tell him his real name despite them being married).
And my guess is that Midori actually dislikes/hates/despises humans, although he's now married to one and acting as if he likes them. So that could be another reason for the turtle's reaction.
Why was that turtle so suprised over Hinata calling his husband Midorì? What did he mean with "feigning innocence" ?
Midori and that turtle seem really close...maybe they were lovers... n.n
