I'm glad you feel the same way (▰˘◡˘▰) This is one of my all-time favorites because of the raw emotion that is felt throughout~
Symbolism is hardly found in manga, & there's even more to look back on, scrutinize, & admire in this piece.. so much that it makes my heart explode with happiness <3
If you wish, you may share as you please.
Unbeknownst to Imagase, Kyouichi's conscience came in three; White, Black & Grey. & I want to say Kyouichi always went with Grey who personified his indecisive (if it's not a problem now, then let's not worry 'til it is) & go with the flow character. It was beautiful to see how Grey changed:

It's the first time we see Grey take a stand & the fact that Kyouichi is wearing a matching shirt is no coincidence. Sensei is a genius! Let's take a moment and bask in the symbolism of it all~ Shall we?
When we see what's supposed to be the three again here:

We only see Black & White. Why? Because Grey & Kyouichi have become one:

Meaning that Grey/Kyouichi is taking a big step in demonstrating his readiness for equal responsibility, if not greater due to Imagase's insecurities & preconceptions about him, in the relationship.
It was at this point that my feelings of frustration & anger towards Kyouichi washed away.
