The author has no control on how long a manga can be... If it's popular then the serialization would be longer... But since most of us are reading here for free, the necessary support that should be given to the author is not delivered

It's not central to the plot whether the person is caught or not. The police already know who did it and they had a personal grudge against the officer they killed, so it's not like they'll be coming after Reese.
