Same. To add up to this unpopular opinion: I don't like Sasuke escaped with everything he'd done just like that. What lesson does it teach? You can do whatever sh*t you want, but if you do something nice for a change and have a powerful friend, you will not have to bare with consequences and responsibility? And I don't think that roaming around like he does is some kind of special punishment, because as we've seen throughout manga he's not the only roamer who worked for his village from the shadows, but he's the only one who considers it as "punishment", all others considered it as just a mission, just some work to be done. Besides, letting him have a wife and a kid... and no one, not a single person ever shows a grudge to either the wife or the child. The extent of this idiocy is ridiculous. I mean, Naruto himself was a kind-hearted idealist, but now it looks like the whole village is a utopia...

Conclusion: I hate it when business interferers with art. Pity it happens to often in the manga and anime industry.

From what I can tell it's a shounen and shoujo thing. Authors of these genres seem afraid to actually have harrowing consequences even when they are deserved. This is why characters like Sasuke, Soo-Won, etc will not only walk punishment free but they will get a great ending to boot.

Well, I also tend to think that the genre in manga business frames and pressures the authors too much (feels like it's more about business than about the actual art of creativity, especially when I come across some poorly drawn mangas with an ill plot-line that actually manage to sell). If I'm not mistaken, mangakas can even change some of their original plot twists or characters under the pressure of their readers/editors...

Same! I don't think Sakura acted well throughout the entire story toward both Sasuke and Naruto either though, and I don't understand how Sasuke and Sakura could ever 'fall in love' from what we the audience saw even from the beginning of the story. And the main character ending up with a side character??? Makes no sense at all story structure wise. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

I wish Sensei hadn't paired either if the boys up personally, I find the Boruto storyline just depressing too as they are both pretty crappy husbands and fathers.

It's hard to have an opinion without people jumping down your throat about it though….

Totally agree! I really want to ask the author, like, was THIS truly your ideal vision? are those two the examples you want to follow yourself or your children to follow till the very end? don't you honestly feel some kind of disappointment and wasted opportunities? can you cross your heart on those words? Sarada's story it truly an unnecessary misery that could have been avoided.

I did write a reply but it got deleted as I posted it. I won't type the same again but yes I agree 100%

How the ending turned out actually makes me feel a little ripped off as a fan of many, many years. I mean, were pairings necessary or actually in line with plot development or even in character??? It's also a Shounen manga so tbh I thought I was safe from silly romance stories with Naruto! I feel like for whatever reason they forced a reality on the characters that just stunted any kind of future potential, in favour of essentially just reinventing the same brand but starring children again. Very sad indeed.

I just wish Sensei would have finished it cleanly, at the headband swap (for example) with the closing line "that's what it means to be a ninja" - that would have been in keeping with the manga a bit more. (Minus the Itachi head bump that Sasuke gave Sakura because that was just out of place.) Though also, it would have been great to see Naruto and Sasuke as a team for a bit, as actual functioning friends...

Nope, I will never be OK with the ending of this amazing story.

Boruto is just sad in that sense. I actually love the Boruto series, but Sasuke and Naruto are pretty bad fathers

I've never liked Sakura, her character was just bad. And her character development was pretty much non-existent, there were a bunch of loose ends with her character, but she was good in the sense that she tried hard (though only for Sasuke). And Sasuke never really truly appreciated anything that Sakura did, and he was always being annoying, he never appreciated anyone except *spoiler* Itachi! And that was AFTER he died. Just both their characters never made sense to me, there would be big jumps in their development like "look we are more mature", then proceed to act childish-ly like they did in the beginning

The author has said in an interview that in the beginning sakura was supposed to be cute but in the end of her development he said that even he was not satisfied and that he was sorry.
Plus he had aldo stated that he never really did a fixed plot line he had always went with the feel when drawing the next chapter. And for starter naruto was not suppose to be how it is not sasuke was never supposed to exist but was created because the main character was in need of a rival and that it was suppose to be like a magic realm where naruto was kurama true son and his adventure after his father attact the village
