I think it's that way because in the future of how cold Xixi is to Jian Yi like Jian Yi got him to fall completely for him and they were official or nearly official but then Jian Yi disappears on him for 3 years.

And probably Jian is hesitating to tell him everything because he wants to protect him. But this only gets Zhan angry because he also wants to help Jian and doesn't like not knowing what's going on.

When I read that line from Xixi about Jian Yi disappearing I knew that was how things went and why Xixi is so cold, angry, and hurt with Jian Yi after he returns.
I kind of figured he knew but didn't think Jian Yi would tell him seriously. But sad cause that forehead kiss makes me think he's gonna say I know, but I'm sorry I can't return your feelings.....I just want to stay friends.
