How come doona doesn't get any hate and everyone is making excuses for her?? If she was a guy everyone would bash on her because she broke another person's heart and raped someone. But because she's a girl she's a role model now? Minho is overall so weak and can't do anything but be verbally mean and yet so many peeps are already calling him a dick or asshole. But doona is a role model???? How???

As I expected and said, everyone is just making excuses for Doona~~ thanks for proving my point. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
I expected to get so many more downvotes on this since most of the users on this site are women.

Do you really think male rapist characters don't get plenty of fans and defenders?

Not sure if you read my comments or halite's comments but neither of see Doona as a role model as you claimed. Some people have a pacifist's mentality and believe violence under any context is unacceptable. That's fine. But it's unreasonable to expect everyone to have that same opinion.

There's plenty of people who upvoted this. I'll assume they agreed with something you said, but for whatever reason chose not to reply. It's important to note that this is a webtoon targeted to women so it should be expected that more women have an opinion on it (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

Pretty convenient all the comments that hated on Doona and Gyerin disappeared. But looks like the people who made them are still around alright. @Anonymous

yeah remember them being called f*gg*ts? but l'm fairly sure that slur isn't used in the yaoi titles around here.

I said both of them are bad but one of them is a rapist and girls are calling her a role model?!! Am I being biased for stating the facts? Ok sounds logical

I never generalized people so if you agree doona is a rapist I don't see why you have to try and defend people who justify her bs? I've SEEN her being called a role model in the comments and basically just praised for the wrong things she does.
And of course I expect more women to vote which is why I said I expected more downvotes. Lol

Um, I'm simply pointing out that female rapists get less hate apparently for being females!!! Never said male rapists don't have defenders!

true, people are admiring her for the one aspect of noncon and not the parts of her being a strong female character in a webtoon for women.

also minho is guilty of assault and sexual harassment. but seeing as it's fictional neither are that deep and l enjoy both characters despite them both getting hate.

call me when someone is defending her conon and I'll be saying the same thing. but mostly I've seen comments wanting her to be raped.

I'm seeing more hate for her than I do for Asami, Fei, Karino, etc. So I'm not sure I can believe this.

Also if someone upvoted this, I'm pretty sure they agreed with what I said. Doesn't matter if they chose not to comment. What could they say? "We agree"? XD I upvote/downvote plenty of comments and choose not to comment since I don't like drama and arguments :/ see.
But what I said is such an obvious situation that anyone who's not biased can clearly see it's worth thinking about!
But again I guess we can agree to disagree.

Idk, I must have missed all the comments saying Doona is a role model, just as you've missed the comments bashing her. Maybe they all got deleted. I commented because I disagreed with all the points you made. The only thing I agree with is that she did abuse Minho but I don't think overall she is just as bad as him.

I've been seeing equal calls for violence towards the woman and minho from different websites. both sides are wrong, but some have more knee jerk reaction towards the sexual threats towards the women in the comic because most are female readers and it's just more common to see sexual violence towards women. there is a lot of it in korean webtoons and that might be one reason the author chanced the roles for her work.

I simply pointed out what I saw. It was my opinion. You can hit that downvote/upvote and be done with it but some people apparently felt the need to make a big deal out of this.

You weren't saying both are bad at all at first. And nobody called Doona a role model, seriously. You can drop that.
The hate Doona got was about her being sexual and it's with these comments that I take her side.

She took verbal abuse silently for years, I just get why she's angry. I also know what's it's like to feel humiliated and having to take it silently. As a reader, that scene had a satisfying/wish-fulfillment effect. That's all. Not an excuse.
Hating on a character is basically whether or not you like them. It's not always linked with understanding whether or not their actions are morally right or wrong. You are seriously getting things mixed up.

Frankly it this point, I get you hate Doona. You know what, that's fine. But how you feel about her character isn't a reason why everyone should bash on her and dislike her.

Also the only person I see making excuses is actually you for Minho. It's not because it's words that it's not violent or no big deal.

I'm sure people have more of an opinion than saying "I agree" . It is possible to comment about the manhwa in greater depth. The comments that have been made can be countered with opposing opinions. As I said for whatever reason they chose not to reply.

I just explained to you why choose not to comment most of the times. Not everyone is thirsty for arguments like you.
But there are so many females/feminists here who won't hesitate to defend doona! That's the reason. I say it again, I even expected even more negative responses to this for the same reason.

you: How come doona doesn't get any hate and everyone is making excuses for her??

most replies are polite as they explain why your statement is incorrect; the character gets lots of hate and yes she's flawed and not a role model

you: lulul here come the rapist defenders!

and you wonder why there are readers upset you are basically calling them rape apologists when they simply came to answer your questions.
