You can't help but be reminded of Twilight for this as the main ware wolf pack is native American as well and they also think that they are the only pack/race to have ware wolves until they found bit. This is similar to the warewolves plot set up in the twilight books, not sure if they kept this in the movies.
keatons family's pack are mostly white, and there's another pack in the sequel that has a prominate latino pack member. The werewolves in this story (the with-without series) know very well there are other races that are wolves. Not only are there other races in the pack (like the formention latino who During without reservations is in Chays current pack) they know of other couples from her previous short stories. It's just this pack is located in New Mexico.
I'd highly recommend reading the with /without serious by j.l.langly.
For me, it's the destined werewolf's mate thing that reminded me of Twilight, and the fact that the mate pair are supposed to be able to recognize each other at first sight... But then again, I haven't read that many werewolf stories. Perhaps I'm more of a vamp fan?
Jake's full name is Jacob Romero, which is kinda unsettling for me because of all the twilight resemblances, but Jacob is a cute name and their characters are quite different anyway. Just finished reading the series!
this will be downvoted but this reminds me of twilight a little. DON'T HATE unless you've actually read twilight
