I agree that the first few chapters before they officially become a couple are pretty cliche and boring for me too since I'm really not a fan of this tutor trope that's so popular in yaoi. But this is one of my favorite manga mainly because of the relationship dynamic the characters eventually develop in later volumes. Kaede and Rintarou are both incredibly open and affectionate with each other and they both understand and address each other's insecurities, which I actually find pretty refreshing in a yaoi manga. There's no over the top misunderstandings or really unnecessary conflicts as the series progress so I just find it a really sweet read. It's probably not for everyone though :) If you're into complicated plots or something hardcore, this probably isn't your cup of tea
