My two cent

I ship Myung X Jun. Jun married Myung. Loved him enough to turn into a tyrant after his death. Loved him to his own death. And they promise each other that they will love each other regardless of whatever world they are in. Jun falling for shiwoo doesn't feel right to me with all that in mind. Jun falling for Shiwoo feels like a betrayal to Myung. Also at the rate that he is falling for Shiwoo makes me question his feeling or the dept of feelings for Myung and when i question that the story starts to fall apart. I am continue this for two main reason. I hate leaving books unfinished but most important; I am really hoping that Shiwoo is truly Myung reincarnation and that he will regain his memory of their past life (without the memory he might as well be a different person a since their personality are different anyway)

This is just opinion. I know some might disagree.

You do have a point. I'm fine with Shiwoo not being Myung though only because I love some conflict and drama. Hahaha! Imagine the mess that's about to come!

Still, I'm hoping that Shiwoo and Myung are the 'same.' I need more happy endings.

I can see where you are coming from.I also feel uneasy about this manhwa (I've talked about this with my past topics here) but I don't want to assume things for now. Although I'm 99% sure that Shiwoo is Myung's reincarnation because he has this feeling of "familiarity" when he met Jun and Jun falling for Shiwoo doesn't mean he is betraying Myung, in fact, it will only solidifies the foundation of his love for him, because his soul is able to recognise its mate even if the said mate has an entirely different personality (sans looks)

and let's give Jun a break, he has been through a lot. He lost his only love and was betrayed by the council. His only resolve to move forward was the letter left by his lover upon his disappearance, and the said letter contained the promise the kept Jun's sanity intact and hope, alive.

Then that promise came true. He was sent to another world and then found his someone that looked exactly like his lover and even had the same birthmark. Who wouldn't thought that that wasn't his lover? It's written all over the letter! lol

What made it harder for Jun was that, Shiwoo wasn't able to recognise him. It made Jun feel anxious, he was tormented at the thought of the possibility of Myung not existing anymore and at the same time feeling bad because he could sense something especial in Shiwoo but was forced to keep the feeling bottled up because he didn't want to make things more complicated e.g. Shiwoo thinking that he was just a replacement WHILE feeling guilty that he's betraying Myung.

Jun's position is so damn complicated, with all the things that happened to him plus intense feelings storming within him trying to break free, I'm quite surprised he didn't go insane yet ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

I know that Myung and Shiwoo are the same person- That is the only wayi think the premise will work (Everlasting love that endures even through death and different world). Unless the author decides to go in a complete different there will be too many questions about Myung and the other world if Myung and Shiwoo are two different. My two cent is about the current situation where Jun now believes that Myung and Shiwoo are two different people but is still falling in love with Shiwoo and unwilling to leave him.

Well the story is about Jin and Shiwoo, afterall, not Jun and Myung. It'd be a stupid move for the author to keep their relationship stagnant and it would make the story a snoozefest if there is no progress with their relationship. Jun falling for Shiwoo is completely fine IMO because I think the moment he accepted that Shiwoo is not Myung is also the point where he accepted that Myung is GONE now. He wants to move on, he wants to give himself another chance of living life again, starting anew. And I think it's a wonderful thing to do. Myung wouldn't also want Jun to cage his heart forever and never open it again and let someone in to heal his heart.

and I also don't question Jun's love for Myung, he is afterall the reason why he ended up in such poor state, because of his love for him. But that doesn't mean he needs to constantly punish himself for not being able to save Myung or for opening his heart to someone that is not him, that is just unfair and cruel. Additionally, I think that it's moving that despite seeing Shiwoo and Myung as two completely different persons (and that just a hard thing to do considering the uncanny resemblance loool), his heart and soul can still recognise its mate even though Jun's mind is not aware of it--which bring us to my last point.

Jun's mind and heart/soul is in indefinite battle against each other since the start of the story. From the very beginning, he is constantly having a war with his inner desire and rationality, whether he should let go of Myung and set himself free from all the burden he's carrying (he just lost his Empire because of that love) or continue to look for the one he loved even though the circumstances dictates that it is a lost cause. Jun has been suffering for a very long time now, he's desperate to find peace and wants to stay in a place where he belongs, and those things happens to be in Shiwoo's arms. If I could, I would give him a virtual pat in the back for finally thinking about HIMSELF, because it's way long overdue.

I get where you are coming from and if it seemed that this manga was about moving on. Letting go of lost love than i will be all for that. It is better to move on than to pine over lost love that will never be but so far it seems that is not what the manga is about. I think the manga is similar to Cloud Atlas (the movie- haven't read the book yet), that a love so great is not lost, it can survive time travels and death (the soul never dies).
Reasons why i think that: 1) Myung himself said that if he dies he will not really be dead, he will be in another world. 2) Jun himself traveled to another world when he 'died' which proves that traveling to another world after 'death' is possible. 3) It would be a major coincident that in this world Shiwoo just happen to look like Myung with the same birth mark and profession. 4) Jun promise to find Myung in whatever world he ends up in.

The reason why i think it is a betrayal for Jun to fall for Shiwoo is because i am placing myself in Myung's shoe. If i loved someone so much and believed in reincarnation or traveling to another world I would want them to find me or at least make sure that i am truly dead or don't exist in the world they are before they move on. It seems that Jun moved on too quickly and didn't try hard enough to make sure if they are the same person or not.

Except Jun didn't move on too quickly, he's just trying too hard not to think of Myung every second, we don't want him to compare Shiwoo totung all the time now, do we? And c'mon, he was even willing to follow someone that looks like Myung (from the back view LOL). And really, how can Jun even make sure that Myung doesn't exist anymore or is already dead? Jun can only assume things (but he doesn't want to); and Shiwoo himself is the proof that he is dead, with his promise in that letter coming true combined with his likeness and birthmark, that is Myung in ANOTHER life. Remember Jun thinks that Shiwoo firmly believes that he is Myung, but it's Shiwoo's request not to compare them so Jun is trying his best not to. Plus, he didn't want to be unfair to Myung and think about him as a replacement as well. But that doesn't mean he wants to forget Myung all together. I could emphatise with both Shiwoo AND Jun, that's why I look at all the angles and understand the characters why they feel and do this and that.

Jun and Shiwoo's situation is really complicated, but this is why I love analysing their character; they are not boring, they are not one-dimensional. They are extremely vulnerable (especially Jun), their resolve could be shaken, they could give in to temptations. And those are the things that make them "more human", which is what mainly draws me into this manhwa. Although it's kind of frustrating sometimes I must admit, but here I am, eagerly waiting for more chapters to come ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
