First of all Sougo doesn't talk much so we don't know what is in his mind. But he acts and to me it seems he wants to understand if he has physical attraction for Yamato..... the only problem is that Yamato does not understand how serious Sougo is to him, that evening he is also very drunk and uses strong sexual words to Sougo..... in the end Sougo probably thinks (but on this I am not too sure because as i said Sougo does not talk) that Yamato is still bound to Will, he realizes Yamato is drunk because he has given away Will's tag to John, Yamato wants to have sex with someone to forget Will's ghost but the point is that Sougo probably is much too serious for that and gets upset.....So that may be the reason why Sougo may want to distance himself from Yamato, because he's afraid Yamato wouldn't share his feelings....ah, if Yamato only knew that! But Yamato on the other hand seems to want to keep a distance with Sougo, after all he apparently likes women only and he thinks he has no chances, also it would affect their missions so in the end it seems both of them want to distance from each other......well, we have to wait for volume 8 and let's hope it doesn't take years!
