It's an issue with translation. They were using a term that's gender neutral (He/she), but it's hard not to choose either one in the English translation.

Wasn't there a typo in the chapter 58.20?? Since Sam kept on saying he/him pronouns when he was talking about his 'girlfriend'? (The friend even did the same thing (calling Sam's 'girlfriend' he/him) and he doesn't know that Sam's 'girlfriend' is Min yet).
