Well some draw both ears. I rather they having 2 ears than seeing 4 ears drawn. It just look weird to me having both their human ears as their animal ears drawn together (⊙…⊙ )
The best solution I've seen is to draw the animal ears a bit lower to fill up the void...

If their ears are up there, does that mean that under their hair... it's just... empty (⊙…⊙ )
