I thought it proved that the red string of fate wasn't what cause people to love each other, but the string was caused by their love for each other...even if it was in the future and not the present.
But TBH, I also love the idea of Kamisawa the Kamisama!

Makes sense. Especially when you think about Keiji's parent's situation. I felt like a lot of the story was hinting at that. Like when he was given the advice to look into the persons eyes when breaking up with them, thats just a general thing because it means you're being stern and strong willed in your decision. Then how it mentioned that if you don't do that, the string may reconnect a few times is like how some couples have a history of breaking up and getting back together several times because they don't commit to the break up or to staying together. Really nice read!
Maybe Kamisawa was God...bc when he found out that Keiji regretted it, he tied it back together with Obata. That's my guess...
