I literally dont understand the entire story. Can someone please explain what happened and why the roles were reversed?

    um the best way I can explain this is that the butterfly effect played a bug part in this. where if u change the past it can greatly effect the future. So the MC saved the guy he likes from dieing in the past in effect he dies in the future.
