I think the reason why the reader didnt take Rape theme yaoi seriously bcause the author itself didnt really potray the actual realistic Rape like in dramas or movies, they just brush it off like some lovers roleplay kinda thing. I read a lot of yaoi manga, there is some I didnt even realized it was rape till I scroll down the comment section. I think if the author express the victim feelings during rape process, like disgust or horror instead of pure arousal and deal with the aftermath like they struggle, trauma or self hatred or grudge instead of Love, people wouldnt dare joke about them.
So... I just came back from seeing a movie about a girl who didn't liked her step mom, mom was very nice to her but the girl didn't accept her. Anyway, one day the girl goes to a Valentine's party and later gets GANG RAPED by some dudes and ALMOST choked to death. She was hospitalized. The mother had a mental breakdown. Of course the police didn't help so the mother decided to handle it herself. One by one the mother takes revenge and then it's a happy ending. Tbh this movie was so painful to watch. I cried so many times because you can feel the pain and sorrow from the movie. I already didn't liked rape but this makes me hate it so much more. And now I can't believe how people would joke about rape and won't take it seriously. I just think that no one (either it be a female or a male) deserves it, rape is so brutal and yet in some Yaoi manga they won't take it seriously. You are an awesome person if you have read it this far lmao btw be safe and have a good life. :)
For people wondering: the movie name is "MOM" and it is a Bollywood film so it is in Hindi. I can understand Hindi and the movie just recently came in cinemas so idk if there are any subtitles to this movie but I think that you should watch this tho it will make you depressed but you will appreciate the movie a lot.
