I think it's cause sensei rushed it. Everything felt rushed after that arc tbh. And characters DID die. Just not the major ones ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ I get what you mean tho. It's all kinda expected and there's no strong impressions of anything at all, just the cliffhangers and stuff
I just have to say that for the final chapter ist was too.... anticlimatic? I don´t know. Ever since the magic tournament Fairy Tail grew weird and kind of boring. We didn´t get anything about Natsus and Zerefs Parents. The whole END thing seems forgotten and NOBODY died. Comparing this to Rave I prefer the latter.
No offens but my beloved Fairy Tail just lost it´s appeal.
