I can. It has always occurred to him that his crush will never return his feelings. in this case, Kotaro will never return his feelings. Being used to this, he would carry on like his usual self, having sex...without emotion. just for the pleasures of it.
I mean, yeah, it'd be satisfactory to know that a guy doesn't have sex for a long period of time because he has a crush on his (best case scenario) soon-to-be lover.
but it gives of a sense of realism to continue on with your life knowing that sometimes, the one you love might never return you the feelings you had for them...

I know people who has HUGE crush on a celebrities, kpop idosl, etc. but have their own s/o or flings. It's the same thing, knowing your like won't be reciprocated and continuing how your life's been
I know many will disagree with this looking at the comments. But I honestly thought kotarou deserves better. I mean nakatsu knows deep down he loves kotarou but at the same time he still seducing youji and that guy in the cafe? I just cannot accept this kind of character.
