Is it possible for a eunuch to come from an orphanage? Because people from the orphanage can be considered family.

In the olden times in japan and china region boys could actually volunteer to be castrated so they could work at the palace harem. It was a well paid job and considered quite an honour. And eunuchs could actually become high ranking officials that would not just work but entirely manage the workings of the harem.
So his family are his siblings and parents that he loves enough to become an an eunuch for so he could provide for them.
the fact the eunuch has a family.... i know eunuch men adopted eunuch boys to train as successors once they reached old age but... beings this guy is pretty young and eunuchs were boys who were orphaned or sold before castration.... i am kinda curious what his 'family' is like.... (⊙…⊙ )
