Your comment is perfection. You and I share an experience and you couldn't be more correct in your comment. Love is not always sunshine and rainbows. Like the protagonists in the story, I gave all of myself to someone who would not return my feelings. Then, I met someone who was willing to give all of themselves to me. Unlike the protagonists, I let go of the unrequited love and let myself return the feelings that were given to me. Maybe I was not tenacious enough or maybe I was a realist, but regardless of why I let go, I am happy that I did. We've been married for 22 years and I've never been happier, or grown in such positive ways as I have with him. Maybe if Yukari and Kaede had had more time, they could have had happiness too, eventually.
Thank you so mucchand in so happy you were able to find happiness. Sometimes we don't find love with the ones we want but with the ones who have always wanted us or the ones we don't see or pretend not to see. My mother always said "Find someone who loves you more than you love them". And she's right because someday you may just turn your heart to them you never know, it just takes some sacrifice and soul searching, courage and letting go to do itI also believe if time were on their side both Yukari and Kaede would have been one sadly it just wasn't meant to be
This is only a story someone who had the courage to do what Kaede has done can judge. I know because I've done it once. Its hard to explain and many may call you a fool but that's what you have to hate and love about "Love" . There is more than one side to it. And I don't hate either Yukari or Kaede they both wanted what they couldn't have and licked each other wounds in the only way they knew how. If you've never been there you will never understand, like the author says have you ever had to sacrifice yourself for love
