I am not mad at him for not loving her. You have the right to love whoever you want, and that's fine. I mean he does not owe her his love or anything (as she notes later on) but to leave her there without making an attempt to search for her is low. You said you care for her, but don't even make an effort to find her. You gave her the face of the woman you loved and once you find the reincarnated version you simply leave her high and dry and focus on a romance from thousands of years ago.
Hell I am not even mad that he didn't save her from the water. The girl was a faerie, and I would like to think a bit sturdier than a human. But damn, go find her and then continue your fling with the human chick is all I am saying.
