It's a red herring. Author wants to just write a cute love story without labels. Should not be tagged shounen ai (that doesn't even exist in Japanese...see how it says BL everywhere lol?)
Yes, Japanese mainly call mangas with male on male relationships as BL. No, Shounen Ai and Yaoi are not western terms. Shounen-ai itself is a japanese word and was created by Japanese women authors in early 1970's to depict beautiful boys in love. YAOI on the other hand is a Japanese acronym (YAma nashi, Ochi nashi, Imi nashi) which translates to "no climax, no point, no meaning". In Japanese speech and writing, YAOI is a slang term used to refer to stories that focus on homosexual relationships between men that involve graphic sex with little to no plot (hence the meaning "no climax, no point, no meaning").
How did you come to the conclusion that these terms do not exist in Japan? They are literally Japanese words.
i didnt know yaoi was actually an acronym. huh. the more you know. thanks for the knowledge good sir
Uh,what i mean do not exist was they dont use this term like what majority us foreigners know n using it as in that yaoi is hardcore n shonen ai is softcore. They call it bl for a long time now,yes those two term are originally from japan, but like i said, they have different meaning from what westerners using ^^
ok i´m confused.
it´s tagged as shounen ai but at the start it say´s ´no bl´?
