Both of them are adult and they make their own decisions.
You could influence people with ideas, but people don't go for divorce just because you heard of it. She must have been thinking of it for a long time, or something that made her to decide for divorce. Talk with her, and clear the misunderstanding. I don't think you should blame yourself. This divorce isn't happening because you suggest it.
(If they blame you, no it is still not your fault. What causes the divorce? No, still not because you suggest it.)
Sorry, I know this isn't really the place to vent out but I need to. So, yesterday my mom met up with my dad's friend and when they were talking, mom realized that dad lied to her about where he was a couple of days ago. Their stories didn't match. I joked around about him cheating on her and them getting a divorce....and then the next day mom says they are getting a divorce. I can't help thinking its my fault because I am the one who put it in her mind in the first place but I'm too scared to ask if I am right. I just...wanna cry but my brother just stormed out of the house and my sister is crying....Is it really my fault?
