Based on the summary, the students want revenge, and the reason for their desire is shown on pg 17, where we see the teacher slapping and verbally attacking a student because of her pregnancy and that same student later standing on the roof and jumping. It also mentions a faked suicide turned real, which is the suicide of the boy in current time. The others are yet to find out the death isn't faked.
