There are indeed pop-ups that are quite inappropriate and you will have app ads but I haven't had any problems about being tracked or know of anyone else that has or has had that problem...Hope this helps
It is not a secure site, so don't give out personal information but as long as you are not getting pop-up and such, the ad blocker is working to protect your computer.
Sometimes the pop ups still appear despite adblocks. Some user advise to use more than 1 adblock. I'm reading this in my phone, and sometimes pop-ups appear

it's safer to create an account in this website than read manga here anonymously. unless you had a sleeping trojan/adware in your pc, there is virtually no popup like me and most users here.
but if your pc has some you had two option.
1. use opera browser that has a native blocker feature.
2. install adblocker in your browser.
