Adopting

There are comments asking why they just don't adopt kids. So in Japan only married couples can adopt. Actually singles (just one person) can too, but it's like the lite version of what married people get since the kids will retain their original surname and family. Like more legal guardian than actual parent? Something like that..

    That sounds sucky? Do they just not have as many orphans as the other countries so they can just have stricter policies? Do they have a foster program?

    They have tons of orphans, but child adoption in Japan is rare. Just Google.
