yes.. but thinking about it now, Hirata could have killed him back then, so why didn't he? If he had the time to stab him, he also had the time to slice his throat or something..

That make me think too: why Ryuu-chan is still alive? mercy, whim, or Hirata have some use for him?

I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese yakuza cut someone's throat. I dunno if it has something to do with honor or if it's just for plot reasons. Seen plenty of throat slicing from mafia/gangsters of other countries though.

It's like a payback. They both known each other for a long time. Hirata got stabbed on the side then he stab Ryuu to get even. Like Ryuu said, "You couldn't give up, could you?" Like Hirata couldn't leave in such short notice without doing anything to him. If he killed him, it could feed evidence. So it'd be pretty bad if he did it when the cops arrived. Sides this stab Hirata did pretty much killed him anyways. So he probably wanted Ryuu to suffer instead of dying in a quick death.

Neither have I, but I was just wondering why he didn't stab him in a more vital place like the heart or the throat.. but like Mystery girl wrote, hirata probably wanted to make him suffer rather than have a quick death..
