Loving this theory but there's just one question, if they were destined wouldn't Abel been a blonde twink from the start? Or maybe Lil-something-something was meant to be the regas? And here's my theory, MAYBE Abel changed his fate the moment his master (the guy who gave him that pendant) began tutoring him. Cause wasn't his master all about raising 'true' regases? Regai? (Whatever the plural is) And Melmont once said that this small group of practitioners was passing on the tradition since the founding of the kingdom. And a true regas was never found before right? And this is the first time someone from this small group was let in (?)

That’s an interesting take! I was actually also wondering about that bcs what if abel didn’t die but ran away instead? I doubt that he will do that but either way, if that did happen then duke truyde’s apparent obsession with blonde twinks wouldn’t make any sense bcs he should’ve been obsessed with abel in the buff version from the start.
I was also thinking that maybe, his change in appearance had something to do with Karas? Maybe, when Karas was young, he needed someone buff and strong because of all his trauma and situation going on but when he grew up, there was no need for that anymore? He was strong enough to protect himself after all and a weak and delicate regas is a better fit because it wouldn’t gain a lot of attention from the counsel of the king’s heart shit so like less harm? Either way, I think it has more do with Abel’s soul itself rather than his physical appearance. Maybe he was destined to be reincarnated in the start?
