Yes, that's the status quo since polar bears are extremely territorial and are also very endangered. They generally live most of their lives alone anyways and would be the last thing you ever saw if encountered in the wild. Anthropomorphize one into a cute human tho and all that rational goes out the window
So many things made me so sad, like genuinely I'm heartbroken when I think about zoos and raising animals in captivity. On one hand they're amazing for education and conservation, but also wdym Kai is the only polar bear in the zoo and has always been alone? And social animals can fr die from loneliness, Subaru was actually crashing out n depressed af.
I must sound fkn crazy ik, they gotta keep me away from stories that realistically anthropomorphize animals because I will cry.
